Spoon is an Indie Rock band who rose to fame via their album, Gimme Fiction.

About

Spoon was formed in 1994 by Britt Daniel on vocals and Jim Eno on drums during a party on Kimbolton Avenue. The two recruited Rob Pope on bass and Eric Harvey on keyboard. After which, they signed a recording contract under Matador Records and then released their debut album, Telephono on April 1996 Their sophomore album, A Series of Sneaks was released two years after in 1998 under Elektra Records.

They also released a two-song EP entitled The Agony of Laffitte. Afterwards, they later signed under Merge Records and released the groups "Love Ways EP" in 2000. Their third album, Girls Can Tell is an indie rock album and was released in 2001.

The following year, their next album, Kill The Moonlight was released in August 2002 it was rated among Rolling Stone Magazine's top 50 Albums of 2002. Gimme Fiction is their fifth album which debuted at #44 on the Billboard 200. The group also released the single, "I Turn My Camera On".

The bands' sixth album was released last July 10, 2007 and debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200 and number 1 on the Billboard Top Independent Albums and sold 46,000 copies in its first week.
