The album was released on September 23, 2003 by La Face Records. The album awarded the Album of the Year in 2004 by Grammy Awards. The album has been certified diamond. It is tagged as the Best-selling Hip-Hop album of all time. The album was also voted as the best album of the year by the Village Voice Pazz & Jop critics. The album reached number 1 on the Billboard 200. The single, Hey Ya! reached number one of the Billboard Hot 100. It has also chartered worldwide.
