About

Sparklehorse was started in 1995 by songwriter/singer Mark Linkous. He worked in his studio in Bremo Bluff, Virginia. He sent his demos to record labels and Capitol Records offered Linkous a deal. Sparklehouse released his debut album, Vivadixiesubmarinetransmissionplot. It included the hits single, “Someday I Will Treat You Good”. The single was played by the airwaves extensively. In 1996, Linkous was found unconscious in his hotel bathroom for mixing his antidepressants with Valium. He was almost left crippled with if loss of blood circulation continued. The young singer underwent a number of surgeries. In 1998, Sparklehorse came back with Good Morning Spider. It was followed by 2001’s It’s A Wonderful Life and Dreamt For Light Years In The Belly Of A Mountain in 2006.

Reviews

Unconventional and classic are the words that best describe Sparklehorse. The albums doesn’t sound loose. It is spontaneous and happy. -Mimi 08:27, 31 December 2007 (PST)
