Sonya Kitchell is an American jazz singer-songwriter who rose to fame via her hit album Words Came Back To Me.

Sonya Kitchell was born on March 1, 1989 at Massachusetts, USA. Her family home has always been an incline of musics. Her father is a top-selling poster artist with a passion for music. Sonya's mother is a graphic designer and loves to compose a songs. In her early childhood days, Sonya loves to play piano.
At the age of eight, Sonya sang during a piano recital. In 1999, she has voice lessons with jazz singers Sheila Jordan and Rebecca Paris.
In 2003, Sonya was awarded Best Jazz Vocal and Best Original Song at for her own composition "Romance" at the DownBeat Student Music Awards. In 2004, Sonya was seen by Velour. Velour began to be the manager of Sonya and a recording contract star.
She released her debut album Cold Day in 2005. She had her follow up album Words Came Back To Me in 2006.
