Snot is an Alternative rock band formed in the 90's. The members of the group are Lynn Strait for the vocals, Mike doling for the guitar, Sonny Mayo, John Fahnestock for the bass and Jamie Miller for the drums.

About
Alternative metal band, Snot, started in 1995 at Santa Barbara by Lynn Strait (vocals) and Mike Doling (guitar). Both came from different bands. In1996, Snot sealed the deal with Geffen Records. They immedietely went to the studio and began working on their debut album, Get Some, which appeared on the rack in 1997. The fresh metal band gained popularity. Other member John Fahnestock (bass), Sonny Mayo (guitar) and Jamie Miller (drums) were also heard in the album. Snot wen on an extensive tour and landed a spot in the Ozzfest tour in 1998.
Although the band was gaining a lot of popularity the album did not reach the expected sales but it did not stop Snot from creating new music. On December 11, 1998 their frontman, Strait, died in a car accident. He was hit by a truck in the 101 freeway at Santa Barbara. Doling and Fahnestock continued working on the singles at the time of Strait's death and asked Johathan Davis from Korn and Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit to do the vocals as a tribute. It resulted to the release of their follow-up album, Straight Up, a compilation of the tremendous grief of the band and the alternative music industry towards Strait. After the release, Doling closed a deal with Soulfly while Fahnestock joined another band, Amen.

- One of its member Lynn was killed in a car accident. The accident also took the life of Lynn's dog Dobbs which appeared on the cover of the album Get Some.
