Smoosh was formed in 2000 by sisters, "Asya" and "Chloe". Chloe at that time was a student at the Seattle Drum School. Her instructor, "Jason McGers" convinced her to formed a group or collaborate with other musicians. Upon going home, Chloe began playing instruments with her sister, "Asya". The two decided to formed their owned band called, Smoosh.


The group released their first single, "Tomato Mistakes" in 2000. After four years, their debut album, She Like Electric under Pattern 25 Records was issued. On June 6, 2006, they released their second album, Free To Stay under Barsuk Records. It features the singles, "Tomato Mistakes". In that same year, they released their first live album, Live and in Person!. Their younger sister, "Maia" joined the group in 2007 for their summer tour.
