Kellie Pickler was the first 2006 American Idol contestant who did not win or even come in second place who released an album. Kellie Pickler is the second American Idol alumnus to have a number one album in the U.S. Country Album Chart. The first is the fourth season winner of American Idol Carrie Underwood.
Small Town Girl is the debut album of Kellie Pickler and it proved to be an instant success by making a debut inside the Billboard 200 at number nine and sold 80,000 copies from its first week of release. The album also made a debut at number one of the Billboard Top Country Albums.
