About

Simple Plan, is a homegrown talent of Montreal, Canada, that is composed by five men by the names Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, David Desrosiers, Jeff Stinco and Sebastien Lefebvre. This powerhouse punk-pop band brought us the hits "I'm Just A Kid" and "Welcome To My Life" from debut breakout album "No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls".

Late in the 90's, high school buddies Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Comeau founded and played in a hardcore punk band "Reset". The band was fairly popular in Canada and had a number of shows around the country. The band shuffled with the members from a four-piece band to a band now called Simple Plan.

The band had a simple plan for not landing a real job--that was to play music, the band members have a liking for the movie "A Simple Plan", hence the Canadian boys named themselves--Simple Plan.

Addicted, one of the first songs that hit the charts peaked at number 10 of the AUS Charts. After a first hit single, success followed for another hit song Perfect from the album No Pads, No Helmets... Just Balls. The said album was a certified 2x Platinum and 4x Platinum in the US and Canada respextively.

With a comeback album that bears the name Still Not Getting Any..., the band sang songs like Shut Up!, Welcome To My Life and Untitled that both graced the airwaves and landed a spot at the charts. Indeed the new band is giving more of the music fans what they crave for.

The band has not classified themselves as a band of a particular genre, but more of a hybrid of all that cares about nothing but giving the fans a high dose of sensationally punk and good quality music.

Reviews

  • Simple Plan's style is not pure hardcore punk, but a mixture of all sorts of music. But that diversity did not make them sound bad, in fact it resulted into better songs. What's better with this band is that they are not afraid of what critics might say about them, not following rules that define the punk music. All they cared about is making great music for their fans, and that, in a way, translates them into a great band.
