Silversun_Pickups is an Indie rock band or sometimes know as SSPU for short. The group had performed at the Austin City Limits in Austin, TX on March 16, 2006.

Indie rock band Silversun_Pickups began in 2005 at Los Angeles, California. The master mind of the band is Brian Aubert (vocals/guitar). He is accompanied by Nikki Monninger (bass), Joe Lester (keyboard) and Christopher Guanlao (drums). Silversun Pickups is said to be taken from the name of a liquor store in the LA are but the band said that the reason of the name behind the band is everything is in a short distance in LA.
Later in 2005, the band issued their six-song EP, Pikul. The following year, it was followed by their full-length album, Carnavas, under Dangerbird Records. In 2007, the singles “Well Thought Out Twinkles” and “Lazy Eye” entered the Billboard Mordern Rock Chart. The band went on an extensive tour around the US with Snow Patrol and Ok Go. The single “Lazy Eye” is included in Play Stations’ Guitar Hero: World Tour and Rock Band. Silversun_Pickups is expected to release their follow-up album, Swoon, in 2009.

- The group got its name after Silversun Lake, a lake in their hometown.
- One of their member Tanya Haden is a cellist who is a semi-member of the band and was married to actor Jack Black and had their first child in 2006.
