[edit] About
Hardcore-emo band, Silverstein was just a part-time project to Shane Told (vocals), Josh Bradford (guitar), Richard McWalter (guitar), Bill Hamilton (bass) and Paul Koehler (drums). This side project began in 2000 at Ontario, Canada. The band self-released their debut EP, Summer’s Stellar Gaze later that year. It received quiet a few of positive reviews which made the band a full-time gig. Later, McWalter was changed to Maharahj’s Neil Boshart. Silverstein went on a tour to the eastern part of Canada.
In 2002, another EP, When the Shadows Beam, was released. This caught the attention of Tony Brummer from Victory Records. He offered the band a deal which Silverstein signed. In 2003, a full-length album, When Broken Is Easily Fixed, was produced. In 2005, the band was swamped on the Warped Tour. The following year, Discovering the Waterfront, was issued. Silverstein also joined the 2006’s Take Action Tour with other bands such as the Early November, Chidos and more. An 18-track album, 18 Candles: The Early Years, which was just basically a combination of Summer’s Stellar Gaze and When the Shadows Beam hit shelves. It was followed by Arrival and Departure in 2007 which was produced by Mark Trombino.
