Silver is recorded on February 14, 1979 to May 23, 1979 and was released the same month. It ranked number 28 while the singles, (Ghost) RIder in the Sky, Bull Rider and I'll Say It's True peaked at number 2, 66 and 42, respectively. Silver was re-issued on August 27, 2002 under Legacy Recordings which features a remake of two of Johnny Cash's songs.
