Silk was formed in 1989 at Atlanta, Georgia, United States by the popular rapper, Keith Sweat. The group comprised of "Tim Cameron", "Jimmy Gates", "Gary Glenn", "Gary Jenkins" and Jonathan Rasboro". Their first LP,Lose Control was released in 1992 under Elektra Records. The album features the hit single, "Freak Me". Their self-titled debut album was issued in November 1995. In 2001, their next album, Love Session was released under Elektra Records. Their next album, Silk Time was released in 2003 under Silk Music Group. In that same year, Gary J. left the band to pursue his solo career. The album features the singles, "Silktime", "My Girl", "Alibi", "More", "You (The Baby Song)", "Check My Story" and "Side Show". In 2006, their next album, Always and Forever was released under Shanachie Records. It also features the singles, "Adore", and "Always and Forever". The band still performs live regularly at venues worldwide, sometimes featuring a guest appearance by former front man Gary Jenkins.
