About
Early Life
Moses Michael Leviy born Jamal Barrow was born on November 8, 1978 in Belize City to a father who is a Belizean Creole politician and a Garifuna mother. He is best known as Shyne. He began to experience trouble when his father spurned him due to mixed ethnicity as a young child. Due to the cruelty he experienced with his father, he and his mother relocated in Brooklyn, New York when he was 13 and spent some time on the streets as a troubled youth early in his teens. Subsequently he held a stable job while pursuing his interest in music in New York.
While on a barbershop back in New York, he was unconsciously overheard rhyming songs by producer Clark Kent who noted his voice similarity with that of Notorious B.I.G. That incident reached Combs of Bad Boy Entertainment. And on 1998, he was signed to a luxurious record deal with the music company.
1999 Shooting and Debut Album
He could have easily become the heir of the death of Notorious B.I.G as the newest star of Bad Boy, but his career was put to imbalance after the night club shooting incident late 1999. During the incident, someone came over to Diddy's entourage and threw cash on them, Shyne immediately drew his gun and attempted to shoot Diddy and his then girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. He openly fired the gun and this led him to indictment on an attempted murder case. He was released on bail in time for the release of his self-titled debut album Shyne. The album was certified platinum by RIAA.
Sophomore Album
He released his second album Godfather Buried Alive on August of 2004 since his imprisonment. And on 2005 he continued to fall out from the limelight of music being on hiatus with some issues involving his record label. Justice Garson ordered all revenues generated on Shyne's contract to be put on bond until the verdict in the civil suits filed against him of the shooting victim which hit an innocent girl. Currently the artist is searching for a new record label to release his music.
