Shawnna is an American female rapper. She has two albums Worth Tha Weight and Block Music.

About

Born as Rashawnna Guy on October 1, 1979 in Chicago, Illinois. Daughter of the legendary Buddy Guy. She was surrounded with music as a child, her father would put her on his lap and play. Shawnna's type of music was a lot different from her family's, they were in to blues and she loved rap. In 1996, Lateefa Harland and Shawnna created a rap duo called Infamous Syndicate. They rapped almost everywhere, at any party, any subway and any restaurant.

The duo's talent and chemistry was incredible, the two girls signed with Relativity Records. On July 2, 1999, they released their debut album, Changing the Game. Unfortunately the album had disappointing sales and the group wasn't resigned by Relativity Records. Unbeaten, Shawnna made an impression on Chaka Zulu, Def Jam South's Vice President. She signed her in and after a few weeks Shwnna made a debut appearance on Ludacris' sexy hit single, “What’s Your Fantasy".

In 2004, Shawnna released her solo debut album, Worth Tha Weight. The singles "Wait A Minute" and “Shake Dat Sh*t” were a hit. Both singles were produced by Timbaland. After her busy tours she went back to the studio to work on her second album, Block Music which was released on 2006. Shawnna is planning to get into real estate and invest in beauty salons in Chicago.
