About
Selena Gomez, the lead singer known for her work in Discney Channel Series Wizards Of Waverly Place, formed the band after a long audition round. She said that she does not like to be considered as a solo act but as a band.
Kiss & Tell is the band's debut studio album and was released on September 29, 2009 by Hollywood Records. Gomez worked with several writers and producers on the album including Gina Schock of the Go-Go's. Musically, the album has a combination of different styles, prominently synthpop, and dance elements.
The album debuted at number nine on the Billboard 200. It debuted at number twenty-two on the Canadian Albums Chart. It also peaked at number twenty on the Mexican Albums Chart and at twenty-one on New Zealand Albums Chart. After the release of the album in Japan it debuted at number sixty-six on Japan Billboard Top 100 Albums.
The lead single "Falling Down" was released on August 21, 2009. It peaked at #82 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and at #69 on the Canadian Hot 100. The second single from the album, "Naturally" was released on December 11, 2009 along with a music video for digital download. The music video was shot on November 14, 2009 and premiered on December 11, 2009. The single debuted at #39 and later peaked at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has thus far peaked at #18 in the Canadian Hot 100. It is the band's biggest hit to date and first top 40 hit beating out their first single "Falling Down" and also first number one hit on the "Billboard Hot Dance/Club Songs". "Naturally" had its highest peak in Hungary, Ireland, and UK, where it peaked at number 7 on all three charts, becoming the band's first Top Ten hit.
They have finished their House of Blues Tour and their Kiss & Tell Tour, and are currently on their European Promo Tour. On March 9, 2010 The Scene released their EP Naturally (The Remixes). The EP featured remixes of their highest charting single "Naturally" by Dave Audé, Ralphi Rosario, and Disco Fries, as well as the original track.
The band's second studio album will be released on September 28, 2010. Gomez said in an interview with Z100 New York that it will feature some songs that did not make it onto the first album and that the rest of the band will be much more included on it. The record's first single, "Round & Round", premiered on June 18, 2010 and Music Video on June 20, 2010.
