WMG Abby: How's it like living in Connecticut?

Sean Fournier: I was born and raised here so I don't know what it's like living anywhere else. I love it though. It's where my family and friends are. I don't know of I'll ever get used to the ol' New England winters though.

WMG: What does your music sound like?

SF: I've struggled with this question every since the beginning of my music-making days... I try to be diverse from song-to-song, but i guess you can say that my music is folk/pop/rock... the funny thing is, I ask people all the time what my music sounds like to them, and everyone has something different to say... so, i guess the question is, what does my music sound like to you?

WMG: Who are your musical influences?

I'm a huge fan of Coldplay...also Damien Rice and Five For Fighting... those are my favorites... I also greatly appreciate country music and other genres... Eminem and 50 Cent are huge on my list.

WMG: Any gigs going on?

SF:I have a few local shows around the corner... I've been doing some work with BORDERS book store... they've been sending to different locations. I also have a few shows at coffee shops close by.

WMG: Where do you get your inspiration in writing your songs?

SF: My inspiration actually comes from the listeners. I love hearing feedback from people... their thoughts on my writings, and how it has affected them. It means so much to me, it has actually become a pivotal part of my song writing process. I think to myself if people can relate to my writing.

WMG: Have you completely overcome your stage fright?

I'm a shy person so there will always be a little bit of anxiety there, but overall, yes, i have overcome it... I've gotten to a point where I just enjoy playing live. No sense being afraid of something you love to do, right?

WMG: What's it like touring and being with other artists?

SF:Being with other artists is amazing. This summer I did a show with a few other acts and when we weren't on stage we were hanging out

backstage and making up songs and joking around. Being around people who share your passion is a great experience.

WMG: Such an amazing ability to do everything in an album. How did you promote them both?

SF: It's mostly word of mouth. I'm fortunate enough to have friends and family who support me.. They want to help me as much as they can... They do alot of promotion for me... word of mouth can go a long way. Also, jumping on the myspace wagon, I found so many people who share my love of music... Without that site and the Internet in general, my music would never have crossed their ears. Playing shows is also a great way to promote.

WMG: I see a lot of upcoming musicians going the same path as yours, what can you offer that will differ you from those other artists?

SF: The beauty of this is that everyone is different. Music means different things to different people and when they find something they can relate to, they grab hold. I write my music with the listener in mind and i just hope they fall in love with the honesty of what I create.

WMG: Your song, "Something About You", what's it about?

SF:Ever start to have feelings for someone that it seems everyone is attracted to? You almost feel that you are lost in the shuffle of all the people that like this person. That is what this song is about. The crush goes so deep that it starts to effect your every moment.

WMG: Any particular favorite from all the songs you wrote?

SF: I have a song Forever More, it's on my first album... the song is a story of a man who dies and goes to hell. While he was living, he was a murderer. The song is through his point of view while he is in hell and his words are a warning to those people still living. He speaks of doing the right thing and following your heart and reaching for your dreams, because if you don't, you will regret it. The song has become an anthem for me in a way. It reminds me to never give up on making music.

WMG: You mentioned on you MySpace page that your music is Damien Rice meets Barenaked Ladies. Care to elaborate on that?

SF:That's me trying to define my sound haha... Like I said earlier, I have some trouble describing what my music sounds like... But I like both of them. I wouldn't say that this describes it perfectly, so If anyone has a description more fitting, let me know!

WMG: Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?

SF:I see myself making music more than ever... my aim is to gain more listeners and followers. Who knows for sure how it will be... but a kid can dream right?

Right. Ok, let's get to the lighter part of this interview:

WMG: Favorite food?

SF:Black beans and rice... I also like salmon with that..

WMG: Interests/hobbies?

SF: I like building websites, I want to write a novel or two and a children's book... I carry this book around with me, I write every idea in it, for a song, a story, a t-shirt design... whatever... I usually get the ideas while I'm driving and i HAVE to write it down right then and there... i nearly get into an accident every time... I joke and say that that was the lyric that killed me. But, basically, I enjoy doing anything creative :D

WMG: Favorite book?

SF: right now I'm reading the Chronicles of Narnia... I like those types of stories

WMG: Favorite movie?

SF: anything that makes me think.. I like the matrix, butterfly effect.... Boondock Saints is awesome... I'm also a huge fan of comedy

WMG: Any tattoos we should know about?

SF:Noooo, but i want one... I THINK i want it on my forearm, but i wont get it until i KNOW i want it on my forearm haha. I'd get either that bear thats on my album cover, or a sword with wings... its the symbol of my music... but whatever it is, it'll have to be something that i created and that means alot to me.

WMG: Most favorite artist? How about CD?

SF: all the coldplay CDs... that first Third Eye Blind CD is a classic in my book ;)

WMG: Thanks for the time Sean. Any last messages for your fans?

SF: I love hearing from you! Drop me a line, let me know how you are doing or how you feel bout my music or whatever.
