About
Savage Garden was formed in 1993 when Daniel placed an ad in a Brisbane music publication looking for a lead vocalist for the then covers band "Red Edge", Darren replied and they clicked immediately. After a while they got sick of performing other peoples music and left Red Edge. They began writing music together and they clicked. Savage Garden was born. The music of Savage Garden is written by both Darren and Daniel. Today they are enjoying major success around the world.
Darren and Daniel wrote and produced all their music. They enjoyed commercial success in their home country with "I Want You", but their success went global on the back of "Truly Madly Deeply". They then went on to enjoy more success with their second album Affirmation, which included their biggest hit in America, "I Knew I Loved You".
Savage Garden announced their split in 2001 after a world tour. As of 2004 Savage Garden have sold in excess of 20 million albums and 15 million singles.
