About
Sarah Buxton was born on July 3, 1980 and grew up in Lawrence, Kansas. As a child, she was musically talented: learning the piano and flute at an early age and even joined the Lawrence Children's Choir. In her teenage years, she didn't spend a lot of time with friends, she'd rather stay home and get involved more in her music.
In her junior high school, she entered a talent show where she sang Patty Loveless' Blame It On Your Heart. As she become more interested in music, she began writing poetry, the skill that later on turned into songwriting. Sarah's influence was Stevie Nicks, who write her own songs based on the happenings in her life. After graduating from high school, she met her idol Stevie Nicks and told her to pursue her dreams. She then moved to Nashville and enrolled at Belmont University where she met her boyfriend and they started a Southern rock band Stoik Oak, touring for three years.
She married her guitarist boyfriend but their marriage didn't last long. After the break-up, Sarah moved in an apartment for six months. Things turned around for good when her old friend, John Rich called and encouraged her pursue her dreams of becoming a country singer. Sarah then asked Leslie Tomasino, her publisher, for a co-writing session with Music Row writers where she became more confident in her singing and songwriting skills.
This resulted to the upcoming release of her debut album slated for 2007 under Lyric Street. The single off the album, Innocence managed to climbed at the 31st position in the US Country charts followed by That Kind Of Day at #52 spot. Love Is A Trip which is a track in her untitled album was used by ABC for the promotion of their drama series, Men In Trees.
