Samantha Mumba is an Irish pop singer known for international success with her first album Gotta Tell You on 2000 and with her notable role as an actress in the 2002 film, The Time Machine.

Biography

In real life, Samantha Tamania Anne Cecilia Mumba-Porter was born on January 18, 1983 in Drumcondra, Dublin, Ireland. She is of Zambian and Irish race where her parents were both aircraft professionals. At between three to fifteen years old, she took opportunity to join the cast on The Hot Mikado, a production based on the Bilber and Sullivan's opera and appeared in several local television shows so she would be recognized as a singer.

On 1998, she was discovered by Louis Walsh at a night club who was so impressed by her talent, thus resulting in a record deal with Polydor. Soon, she started travelling to record for her first album Gotta Tell You which eventually resulted to her dropping of school to focus on her musical career. The debut album was released 2000.
