About
Rupee or "Rupert Clarke" in real life was born on September 10, 1975 in Germany. Both of his parens suffered from AIDS while he was still young. At the age of nine, Rupee transferred in Barbados. He won in a teen talent competition at Harrison College. In 1997, he was invited to joia a popular Bajan band named "Coalishun". He went solo in 1998 and wrote a song entitled "Ice Cream" which became his first hit solo single. His debut album, 1 on 1 was released in 2004 under Atlantic Records. The album features the singles, "Tempted To Touch" which landed #1 on the Hot Dance Singles Sales and "Do The Damn Thing" which featured in an episode of the hit American TV series Desperate Housewives. Rupee has also worked with other famous Soca and Reggae Artist like, Shaggy, Sean Paul. Thara, Fay Ann Lyons, Alison Hinds, Lil Kim, Kevin Lyttle, Daddy Yankee and Rihanna among others.
