Ride The Lightning
from WikiMusicGuide, the free music guide. Your music wiki.
Metallica's second album launch. The skies crumble with James' and Kirk's double lead guitar riffs back to back with enormous drum beats and flubby bass....Infinite acoustic improvisation to steel strings. Real powerful release.

About
Ride The Lightning is another wonderful landmark album and it's still one of the best C.D.'s of the past two decades. All of the qualities of a classic metal or thrash metal album are here: long songs (about 6 minutes per song), rapid fire riffs, ripping solos, an instrumental track, and even some acoustic guitar licks. In conclusion, if you want a complete metal collection, or if you just like heavy metal, you need this album more than you need your next breath.

Reviews
With increased critical and commercial attention for the album, the band received their first accusations of "selling out", because of the slow subdued vibe of songs like "Fade to Black", although many more fans argue that the diversifying of sound shown on Ride the Lightning helped to make Metallica such an important band to the genre.
