About

Remy Ma (Remy Smith) was born in Castle Hill, Bronx, NY on May 30, 1981. During her childhood, Remy was surrounded by drugs, prostitution and HIV. All she did was put everything into words by writing songs and poetry. In 1999, she impressed rapper, Big Pun who became her mentor. Remy joined Terror Squad which Big Pun was also a member). In 2000 when Pun died, Remy signed in with Universal Records and appeared on M.O.P.’s single “Ante Up Remix” followed by “Lean Back” in 2003. In 2006, she released her debut-solo album, There’s Something About Remy. It included her version of Big Pun’s “Thug Luv” and her new single “Whateva”.
