Ray J is an American R&B singer and actor who was known as a co-star to his sister Brandy's sitcom Moesha as Dorian Long.

[edit] Early Life
Born William Ray Norwood Jr. on January 17, 1981 he is known with his stage name Ray J from McComb, Mississippi. The Southern Californian native started his pursuit to stardom at age 8 having been called many times to do a television commercial. At 12, he was on the cast of the highly acclaimed "The Sinbad Show". While on the show, his voice was inevitable, and eventually landed a recording deal at 14.

On 1996, he released his debut album entitled "Everything You Want". His debut album was well received and it proved that like his sister Brandy, he has what it takes to enter the music industry by storm. After his debut, his musical horizons expanded tremendously. He was often cited to saying that "After my debut, I didn't know what type of direction I wanted to go in and after that Brandy came out and I just went with the flow. But after my album dropped and I saw what was out there, I started to develop my own ideas about what I wanted to do with my music."
[edit] Appearance on Soundtracks
It was after the realization that he knew what he really wanted. And he started to appear in the soundtrack of major theatrical releases "Set It Off" and "Dr. Dolittle". He tried his hands at producing and got the chance to produce on from Mattel. A major toy manufacturing company also hired him to produce music for their commercials. Currently he is managing his own production company called Knock Out Entertainment.
Since his debut he has released two other albums entitled "This Ain't a Game" released on 2001 and "Raydiation" released on 2005.
