Raven-Symoné is an American actress, R&B and pop singer, dancer, songwriter and television producer. She began as Olivia Kendall on The Cosby Show, when only three years old. She also began a music career at age five.

Raven-Symoné began her solo career when she signed to MCA Records in 1990, at age five. Her debut album, "Here's to New Dreams" was released in 1993, and the lead single was a success, even though the album itself and the second single did not do as well. She was eventually dropped by MCA Records in 1995. After a short break, she founded RayBlaize Records with her father Christopher in 1997, and she was signed for distribution to Crash Records the following year. Her sophomore album, "Undeniable" was then released in 1999, but did very poorly even in comparison to the album before it, and she was dropped from Crash Records in 2000.
Raven sold her share of RayBlaize the next year, and returned to acting until she signed to Hollywood Records in 2003. Her third album, "This Is My Time" was released in 2004 and was a huge success, currently her most successful album to date. Around this time, in 2005, Walt Disney approached her to become one of The Cheetah Girls, along with co-stars Adrienne Bailon, Kiely Williams, and Sabrina Bryan from the movie of the same name. She however declined as she wished to pursue her solo career.
Her fourth album, self-titled, "Raven-Symoné", was released in 2008. It did not do nearly as well, and she voluntarily left Hollywood Records soon after the albums release. She signed dual contracts with Universal Motown Republic Group and Coalition Media Group in 2009, and in early 2010 she signed a third contract with The Collective. She plans to release her fifth album in November 2010.
