Rated Next was released on September 30, 1997 by Arista Records. The album features the hit single "Too Close" which came on top spot on both US R&B and US Hot 100 singles charts. The single also won the band Best R&B/Soul Single by a Band, Duo or Group on the Soul Train Awards on 1999 and was certified 2x platinum by RIAA.
