The album was released on March 22, 1986 by Elektra Records. It chartered at #2 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and #11 on the US The Billboard 200. The album issues the hit singles, "Sweet Love" which reached #8 on the US Billboard Hot 100, #2 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks and #3 on US Adult Contemporary Charts, and "Caught Up In The Rapture" that landed at #9 on the US Adult Contemporary Chart and #6 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks Albums Chart, "No One In The World" chartered at #5 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks Albums Chart and #9 on the US Adult Contemporary Chart.

The album has sold over five million copies worldwide.
