Raphael Saadiq is an American singer, songwriter and producer who rose to fame via his hit single, "Ask of You.

Raphael Saadiq or Charlie Ray Wiggins in real life was born in Oakland, California. He started playing music at the age of six. He also played bass at church and school. He enjoyed his place on stage at various local hometown events.

Raphael joined Prince after he won a chance to join him in a World Tour. In 1989, he formed the band called Tony! Toni! Toné!. After the released of their album, House of Music, Raphael left the group to pursue his solo career.

Raphael released his solo first two singles, "Ask of You" and "Me and You". He also released an album under his own production company, "Pookie Entertainment".
