[edit] About
Ralph Tresvant was born on May 16, 1968 in Roxbury,Boston Massachusetts. He started his career ith the famous R&B act New Edition where he is the lead singer on many singles released such as "Candy Girl", "Cool It Now" and "If It Isn't Love". After being with the group for six years, Rizz was so conscious of pursuing his solo career so he signed with MCA records.
Despite his apprehension on going solo, MCA executives Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were so confident in him. Together, after writing the song lyrics of the single “Sensitivity” it became a major hit in the R&B charts peaking at the top spot. The single later on went to be certified Gold. He then released his self-titled debut album on 1990, which went on to be certified Gold. Two more hits of the album "Stone Cold Gentleman” and "Do What I Gotta Do" which reached 3rd and 2nd spot respectively on the Hot R&B.
After appearing in the movie House Party 2 on 1991, he then scored another hit single entitled "Money Can't Buy You Love", which topped the charts at 3rd. This was his final top 3 hits of his music career.
His second album It's Goin' Down was released on 1994 and did not succeed as how many expected it to be with its momentum from the debut. On a bright note, it showed his versatility having produced many tracks himself. His final and third album was Rizz-Wa-Faire released on 2006.
