Propaganda is a Synthpop Band who rose to fame via their hit album, A Secret Wish.

Propaganda was formed in 1992 at Düsseldorf, Germany by "Ralf Dörper","DJ Andreas Thein" and "Susanne Freytag". Later on, "Michael Mertens", "Claudia Brucken" and "Paul Morley" was added in the line up. In 1983, the band transferred in England and signed a recording contract under ZTT Rrecords. Their first single, "Dr. Mabuse" was released in 1984 and chartered the British Top 30. At the later part of 1984, DJ Andreas left the band. Their second single, "Duel" was released in 1985 and landed at #21 on UK Singles Chart.

Their debut album, A Secret Wish was issued in July, 1985. It chartered at #16 on UK Albums Chart. The album features the singles, "p:Machinery" which reached #50 on The UK SinglesChart. Their remix album, Wishful Thinking was released in November 1985. The group disbanded in 1986. Claudia went solo. The band was reformed in 1990 with a new line up, however, Michael returned to the group with "Betsi Miller", "Derek Forbes" and "Brian McGee". That same year, they signed a recording contract under Virgin Records and released their album, 1234. Michael, Claudia and Susanne reunited in 1998 and signed a recording contract under East West Records. However in 2005 only Susanne and Michael remained in the group.
