With their positive and sleek morals Profound Intent became a popular co-ed teen music group within a brief period in the mid-00's. Frontman LaPret's career accomplishments as a songwriter and businessman aided in the groups growing success.

[edit] About

In 2005, Profound Intent was born in Washington, D.C., when LaPret held auditions for choosing Jahnae "Misty" Johnson (as Lead Singer) and Devan "Lil'Ace/Aze" Brockenberry (as a Vocalist); Kie'Arra "Mizz Redz" Pretlow (as a Rapper) later became the group's fourth original member by the start of 2006; but earlier appeared in photos with Misty and LaPret prior to "Brockenberry" joining. LaPret with the support of Johnson formed the group to promote positive trends and morals for all youth, after learning the youth homicide rate in Washington, D.C. alone. The group began performing as a spoken word group in Suitland, Maryland at the Annabelle Ferguson Auditorium for a nonprofit called “Christian Stars”; since then the group has traveled North America, gaining fame worldwide. Singer Kelly Price briefly mentored the group in 2006. The group has won 7 GarageBand awards. In early 2009 the group as a independent recording artist became eligible to participate on the Billboard Charts. The group officially disbanded in November 2009.

Mizz Redz, LaPret and Devan "Devy B" Brockenberry are back in the studio working on their return to music as of June 12, 2009. The all-new Pop music album is called Sumthin' U Can Feel and is expected to be in-stores October or November 2009. The album will feature three all-new solo singles from LaPret, Mizz Redz and Devy B. The group is also working on several philanthropy projects that will be introduced and executed starting in July 2009.

[edit] Members

On December 02, 2006 Lead Singer Misty left the group amid claims that frontman LaPret was favoring Mizz Redz by working in her best interest lyrically. Alzater "Al-Baby" Acee was named as the new lead singer in a March 2007 magazine article but never appeared in any photos or on any recordings of the group.

[edit] Rock With Profound

In early 2007 Al-Baby was named the official replacement for Jahnae Johnson. However, in April 2007 the group conducted a MySpace Street contest called "Rock with Profound"; this confirmed that Al-Baby was no longer in the group. Originally searching for a new Lead Singer and a second male Rapper, the group selected two winners (Shanice Cooper and Russell Rakiem Tolson) but never officially deemed them members of the group for a number of reasons. The critic-acclaimed single "Let's Get Krunk" was leaked to a site in July 2007 and received over 1 million plays and several featured articles. Despite the success of the leaked single the group continued with original members as a trio.
