Prairie Wind

Prairie Wind is Neil Young's another album from his country persona. It follows in the tradition of Harvest and Harvest Moon but the songs here are shorter and more accessible. Sounded same as most of his acoustic CDs but added horns and organs on some of its tracks for a fresher tone. The lyrics here deal with death and loss and melancholic but a good CD to listen to in times of wanting to hear something quiet. Young has released several albums in different musical styles in the past but Prairie Wind feels like a homecoming and ranks with his very best.

About

Prairie Wind is Neil Young's album in 2005. While Young was preparing to record the song The Painter, he was diagnosed with a brain aneurysm. He recorded eight of its tracks prior undergoing surgery for his aneurysm and written the last two songs after his aneurysm procedure. Young even commented that he wrote some of the songs for 15-20 minutes. This album debuted at #11 on the Billboard 200 album chart and stayed for 27 weeks and awarded a certified gold album by RIAA on January of 2006.
