Portrait Of An American Family was released in July 12, 1994. The album was recorded on August to December of 1993 with 61 minutes of rock playing time under Nothing Records which is owned by Nine Inch Nails’ Trent Renzor, who happens to co-produce the album with Marilyn Manson.

Marilyn Manson was banned from performing in Utah, but when Reznor invited Manson on-stage, he sparked more controversy by ripping up the Book of Mormon.
