[edit] About

Portishead was formed on 1991 in Bristol by members Barrow, Gibbons and Utley. It was after they had created a short documentary film "To Kill the Dead Man" whose soundtrack was impressive that Go! Entertainment decide to sign the band.

The music record company then released their first studio album "Dummy" on 1994 which was a hit in Europe and the United States. The album was certified platinum. They withdrew from the industry for three years and on 1997 came back with a vengeance for their second studio album, a self titled - "Portishead". Subsequently, a live album was released on 1998.

For seven years, the band broke to focus on their solo projects. And on 2005 appeared on a Tsunami Benefit Concert in Bristol. The band then announced that they are releasing their third studio album "Third".

Currently, the band are in the process of recording new tunes soon to be released.
