[edit] About
Plus One is a five-piece American boy band comprising of Gabe Combs, Jeremy Mhire, Nathan Walters, Jason Perry and Nate Cole. Their fame started when they emerged in the fall of 2000 with their debut album The Promise, which granted them a gold certification and opened doors for them to appear in various television shows such as Touch by An Angel, Days of our Lives and Live with Regis & Kelly. They also got to tour with contemporary Christian vocalist Jaci Velazquez and in 2001, the Gospel Music Association honored them as New Artist of the Year as well as nomination in the Dove Award for the same category.
In 2002, they issued their sophomore effort, Obvious but after completing touring for the said album, Jeremy Mhire and Jason Perry left the group whilst three of the member stayed to continue with Plus One's career. Sadly, Obvious wasn't as successful as their first reason for the group to lose their recording label in 2003.
From the former boy band image of the group, the remaining three have decided to revamp their image via their third album, Exodus (2003) as they signed with Inpop Records. The album featured swirling guitars, deep bass lines and piercing piano solos combined with all original lyrics made by themselves.
In 2004, after finishing the Exodus tour, they group silently broke-up citing lack of album and ticket sales and desire to move on to other projects were the reason. As reported, Nate Cole and Gabe Combs went on to formed Castledoor and released an album independently.
