[edit] About
On December 13, 2006, Profound Intent released their first recorded single, Play the Field under the newly-founded label, LaPret World ENT. Lead Singer Jahnae "Misty" Johnson had left the group just 11 days earlier. The label was exclusively established for the release of the group’s records. The record was a major door opener for the teen group. It garnered magazine articles and global distribution contracts. ASCAP elected LaPret for a Writer & Publisher membership in 2007, and the group signed with South Capitol Recordings. In 2009 the group became eligible to participate on the Billboard Charts as independent recording artist.
The song, Play the Field written by American Songwriter LaPret touches on a relationship in turmoil and urges the hurting partner in distress to escape the chaos and explore their options at choosing a better lover.
