About
Singer and songwriter Paulini Curuenavuli was born on October 15, 1982 in Fiji. At the age of 4, her family moved to Australia and two years later she began to sing at a choir. During her teens, Paulini's talent was recognized in her high school where she also received a number of awards. At 16 years old, Paulini won in a talent contest, Starstruck. In 2001, the young talent organized a band named MIXX with her two sister. She was also asked to sing "Many Rhythms, One Love" for the South Pacific Games team in Fiji. Fame arrived when she auditioned for Australian Idol in 2003. Paulini won a number of votes but did not make it in the final three. After the show, a lot of record labels fought to work with the talented singer and decided to settle with Sony BMG.
In 2004, Paulini began working on her debut album, One Determined Heart, which was released later that year. The single "Angel Eyes" which was a revival of Jeff Healey's 1988 hit was an instant success. The album topped at the Top Ten charts for several weeks and the single "We Can Try" entered at #30 in the ARIA charts. In 2004, Paulini issued Superwoman but the release was being hold by the record company and was released in 2006. The single "Rough Day" peaked at #3 while "So Over You" was a huge success. The album was not as successful as expected. Paulini joined Young Divas with co-Australian Idol contestan Emily Williams, Kate DeAraugo and Jessica Maubot achieving success in Australia.
