Paula Abdul is a very popular American singer, choreographer, actress and a dancer. Her first album Forever Your Girl became an instant hit. Up to this time, Paula is known to be the sweetest judge of the highest rating phenomenon reality TV show for music competition American Idol.

Paula Abdul was born on June 19, 1962 at San Fernando, California to Harry Abdul, a Sephardic Jewish from Syria who owns a sand and gravel business in California and Lorraine Abdul a former assistant to film directssssor Billy Wilder.

When Paula was seven years old, her parents divorced so she and her sister lived with their mother in San Fernando Valley. At her young age, she was inspired when she had seen the movie Singing in The Rain which starred Gene Kelly. Her dream is to be a successful dancer like her favorite actor Gene Kelly. At the age of seven, she began singing and dancing in community musical theatre groups.

At the age of eight, she undertook dance lessons where she impressed her teachers on how the way she dances.

At the age of eight, Paula took tap dance lessons in which she was awarded a scholarship to study under Joe Traime at the Bell Lewitzky Company.

Paula studied in Van Nuys High School. She joined a cheerleading squad, played flute in the band, a senior class president and a consistent honor student. She received a scholarship to a dance camp near Palm Springs when she was 15 years old.

In 1978, after graduating from high school, Paula appeared in the movie-musical Junior High School. She attended college in Cal State-Northridge, majoring in Broadcasting. She wants to be a sports newscaster.

In 1980, Paula auditioned for the Los Angels Lakers Girls Squad and out of 700 hopefuls, she was the lucky one to be selected to be their newest member. Within three weeks, she was chosen to be their head choreographer. After six months, she decided to quit schooling and decides to take up a full-time career in dance.

Paula was hired by Jackson family to choreograph a Jacskson and Mick Jagger music video Torture. Paula became also the choreographer of other popular singers, such as Janet Jackson, Duran Duran, Prince, Jermaine Jackson, The Pointer Sisters, Steve Winwood, Luther Vandross, Debbie Gibson, George Michael and Dolly Parton. She appeared and at the same time cheograph the music video of Toto and Michael Jackson for his music video Liberian Girl and Janet Jackson music videos of What Have You Done For Me Lately and Nasty. Paula had also choreographed the stage shows of Suzana Somers and Toni Basil.

Paula has also choreographed dance sequences in the movies Coming To America, Karate Kid III, Jerry Maguire, American Beauty, Big among others.

In 1988, Paula has releaser her debut album Forever Your Girl. The album has reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard 200 album sales chart.

Her follow up album Spellbound was released in 1991. Her single, Rush Rush that was included in this album became number 1 at the Billboard Charts. After that, she had many follow up albums, which all reached the Billboard Charts.

In 1994, Paula divorced Emilio Esteves because of indifferences. Paula has also done several movies and TV guestings.

In 1998, Paula released her aerobic video Cardiac Dance. She has also established her own company called Co Dance. In 2000, he had released her compilation albums.

In 2002, Paula along with Simon Cowell and Randy Jackson became one of the three judges for the very popular high rating reality television music competition show American Idol. The show is still highest rating TV show, which aired every year.

Paula has her own Star on Hollywood Boulevard. She was inducted into Nickelodeon's Kids Choice Hall of Fame.
