"No matter what a woman looks like, if she's confident, she's sexy. It doesn't matter what size you are, what colour, whatever, what colour hair you have, eyes, like if you have confidence, and you're a nice person and sweet, and you're funny, I think that's sexy." -- Paris Hilton
Paris Whitney Hilton was born on February 17, 1981 to Kathy Richards (former actress) and Rick Hilton (Hilton Hotels). She has one sister, Nicky and two younger brothers, Barron and Conrad.
Paris is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, founder of the Hilton hotels and source of an estimated $300 million family fortune. The family is no stranger to public scrutiny; her grandfather, Conrad “Nicky" Hilton, Jr., was the first of Elizabeth Taylor's many ex-husbands, and their wealth and glamour keeps them in the spotlight.
She attended the Canterbury boarding school in Connecticut for a semester, then transferred to the Dwight School in New York before dropping out altogether.
Growing up in Manhattan's ritzy Waldorf-Astoria, the family's New York home, as well as other Hilton residences in Beverly Hills and the Hamptons and as an heiress to the Hilton's empire, Paris wanted nothing much growing up. After graduating in Highschool, college did not appeal to her. Around 2000, she decided she would turn fame into a career. From then on, she has become a renowned jet-setter and a socialite
She began to make a name for herself as a model, soon appearing in shows for designers such as Marc Bouwer and Catherine Malandrino, and she later completed an advertising campaign for Iceberg, an Italian label. She also posed for spreads in publicaitons such as GQ, Vanity Fair and FHM, and has been profiled, along with younger sister Nicky, in People magazine.
She has also actively contributed in numerous fashion circles, often collaborating with top designers at their shows. Some of these designers and labels include Tommy Hilfiger, Joey and T, Heatherette, Richard Tyler and Jeremy Scott.
Paris is also one of the star of the hit television real-life series, The Simple Life, together with Nicole Richie and in this series, they tried to live on an Arkansas farm without the modern conveniences that they are used to.
Her first single, "Stars Are Blind," was released in the spring of 2006, followed by her self-titled full-length debut in August, with plans for a follow-up already on the way.
