Paid tha Cost to Be da Bo$$ is a 2002 Snoop Dogg album which features hit single "From tha Chuuch to da Palace". The album was a subject of controversy when a California man claimed his life was endangere after the rapper included his 50 second phone message.

The West Coast Hip Hop genre album, Paid tha Cost to Be da Bo$$ was released on November 26, 2002 under Doggystyle records. In just its first week of release the album sold 187,000 copies and has sold over 1.2 million album copies to date according to soundscan.
The album released two hit singles including the hit "From tha Chuuch to da Palace" where it spend 10 weeks in the Billboard Hot 100 Charts, and spend 8 weeks in the Germany top 100. The next single released was "Beautiful" where it became an instant hit in every major country worldwide mainly due to its Brazilian eye-catching carnival-like scenes. The single spend 20 weeks in the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and 18 weeks on the Hot Rap Singles Chart.
Other singles released which do not have notable successes as the first two were "Paper'd up" and "Lollipop" which was used for promotional campaigns only.
