Orgy

Orgy is a boy band from Los Angeles, California. The band was formed on 1997 and considers their type of music as death rock.

Orgy was formed on 1997 by founding members Jay Gordon and Ryan Shuck. The duo led to an eventual signing of record label Elementree Records. After a while, bassist Paige Haley, guitarist Amir Derakh and drummer Bobby Hewitt soon completed the line up. All of the group's members have been involved in the musical scene since the 80's as Derakh has been a former member of 80's metal band Rough Cutt and Hewitt a former member of Electric Love Hogs. The two founding members were also experienced producers.
It was on 1998 that their debut album Candyass was released the single "Blue Monday" was a hit. After the release of the album, the group finally appearance on public for the first time at EdgeFest, an annual radio show in Oklahoma on 1998. They made public appearance extensively at the Family Values Tour with Korn, Limp Bizkit, Ice Cube, Incubus, and Rammstein in promotion of their band and in turn was featured on a compilation album of the tour on 1999.
Their second album, with some scientific theme Vapor Transmission was released on 2000 with two singles: "Fiction (Dreams in Digital)" and "Opticon". And on 2001, they released a song, "Faces" which was unplayed in all their albums. The song is meant to be part of the soundtrack for the film Zoolander.
In the present, all of the group members had been engaged on a side project of their own. Amir Derakh and Ryan Shuck formed a duo named Julien-K; Paige Haley founded Drug for Joy, an alternative rock band. And Dead By Sunrise was formed as a side project founded by Amir Derakh, Ryan Shuck, and Linkin Park's Chester Bennington.
