Only With Laughter Can You Win was released on September 23, 2003 under Sub Pop Records. This album is themed around love, spirituality, and family. It starts off with "Let Myself Fall" in which she sings about the consequences of falling in love. In the next track which is entitled "I Play Music," she sings, "When I was young/I did it my way/I did it my way and I still do/So I play music that's what I do/And when I sing I lose myself/There's nothing more I’d rather do." Other songs from the album are "Red Rover," "See All My Things," and "Gradually." Mainly guitars are used for instrumentation in the album.
