[edit] About

Nikki Sixx or "Frank Carlton Serafino Feranna, Jr." was born on December 11, 1958 in San Jose, California at 7:11 a.m. to "Deana Richards" and "Frank Ferrana". His father left the family when Nikki was 3 years old. Nikki lived with his mom in Hollywood for a while, but was often shipped out to stay with his grandparents, who moved between Texas, Idaho and New Mexico while Deanna lived the life of a gypsy. His mother remarried to a bass player in Frank Sinatra's band while she sang backup. He moved out of his mother's home, living in the streets and sold drugs until he was kicked out. Went to live with his grandparents in Idaho and then to Los Angeles, California. A slew of auditions, false starts and a short run in a band called London, Nikki met drummer Tommy Lee and formed the band, Motley Crue in 1981. Twenty-five years and some 40 million albums was sold later. In December of 1987, Nikki nearly died of an overdose. After the incident, Nikki went into rehab. He also formed a band called, Brides of Destruction. However, after one album, the band disbanded due to poor album sales. Since 2006, Nikki had been working on a book entitled The Heroin Diaries: A Year in the Life of a Shattered Rock Star, a collection of his journal entries from 1986 and 1987. The book was released last September 2007.
