[edit] About

The band is now based in Vancouver, Canada and is composed of four passionate musicians. It was Bassist Mike Kroeger that gave the band the idea of naming themselves Nickelback; it was because when he was working in a coffee shop, customers would often say "Here's your nickel back".

In March 2000, the band's The State was released in the US. Though it was released a year after its release in the band's home country, it made great noise in the US and the band toured all over the US for their album. The said album contains chart-topping hits such as "Breathe" and "Old Enough". A band member remarks that he did not expect such a success, and not so long after, they were already playing alongside The Creed and other extremely remarkable artists.

Silver Side Up, was Nickelback's most phenomenal album to date, claiming a 6x Platinum certification. It also featured the songs "How You Remind Me", "Too Bad" and "Never Again" topping the charts in Canada and all over the US. An outstanding thing about songs by the band is that they had their lyrics more insightful rather than metaphorical. Their songs were musical, creative and at the same time realistic.

In two years time, the band managed to release another evocative album by the name The Long Road, the album reached triple platinum status and the tracks were as brilliant as the previous songs from their successful album. Recently, they released 5x Platinum album "All The Right Reasons" under Roadrunner with "Photograph" immediately claiming a spot at the top of the charts.

With the exceptional stage presence and writing skill this band possess, fans should expect Nickelback to create even more striking songs and albums in the future.
