About
The alternative-pop group that was immortalized by the name-dropping hit "You Get What You Give", even if they are already disbanded, the New Radicals is was brought to life by then young liability/singer/producer/songwriter Gregg Alexander.
Apart from his oh-so-expressive-eyes, Gregg Alexander, a Grosse Point, MI native, to an ambitious plumber-father and a mother who settled to be a Jehovah’s Witness after frequent changes of religion, he often performed with an inimitable flair. When he was a kid growing up in his hometown Michigan, he greatly enjoyed listening to rock and RnB, after which he got his own electric guitar and traveled around the US where he criss-crossed twelve times after his high school, he also had a stint in London because he wanted to run away from what he said was a "neglectful" family.
He started as a solo artist with two unmarketed albums “Michigan Rain” (1989) and “Intoxifornication” (1991). He somehow managed to lived in New York and Los Angeles where it was in 1997 in L.A that he gave birth to the New Radicals under MCA. "Maybe You’ve Been Brainwashed Too" was the group’s first and lone album, also from MCA, was profoundly influenced by the 1970’s rock scene. Alexander did all of the production and arrangement and majority of the songwriting in the promising album that was also big at that point in time. The single "You Get What You Give" is just one of the songs that highlights strong and honest lyrics and a rather crazy music video. Later, the song "Someday We’ll Know", an equally popular hit as the first one, had a remake and was used for the movie "A Walk to Remember"
After roughly three years in the music scene, not so long after their debut, their hit and their claiming a spot in the alt-pop scene, Gregg Alexander, the creator of the group announces at June 12, 1999 that the group disbands and he wanted to focus more on producing.

Reviews
- The New Radicals, even at the first time people hear their work, it seems that there is much passion in every strong statement inside their lyrics. I commend them for that. However, they do not compromise the beat of the song, they still managed to combine substantial lyrics with a beautiful 70’s beat.
