Mya is best known for her R&B and rap hits such as “Ghetto Superstar” and “Fallen” with Chingy. She is also a singer, songwriter, dancer, actress and model. Born with mixed Itailan and African American ancestry.

About
Mya Marie Harrison was born on October 10, 1979 in Washington, D.C. She started as a dancer and later on an R&B vocalist. Mya released her debut album in 1998. A talented child she had a passion for dancing, music and learnedhow to play the violin. She eventually joined a dance troupe called T.W.A ( Tapper With Attitude). Later on she left the group to study in the Dance Theater of Harlem in New York. Mya became well known for her dancing skills. Her father, Sherman Harisson, a professional musician shopped her demo tapes around town and caught the attention of Haqq Islam, the president of University Music. He signed Mya to Interscope Records.
Spending two years for her debut album they worked with Babyface, Diane Warren, Raphael Brown, Wyclef Jean, Missy Elliott and Sisqo. The result, an album all about love and growing up and released on April 1998. Two years late her second album, Fear of Flying, was released. She also worked with TLC’s Lisa Lopez, Jadakiss and Wyclef Jean.
