The Caribbean background album Music of the Sun is the debut album of reggae, dancehall, and R&B singer Rihanna. All tracks of the album were written by herself, which also made her mark in the songwriters industry.

Released on August 30, 2005 under Def Jam Records, the album was stucked by Rihanna's Caribbean background style. The album is driven by a mix of booming dancehall-lite beats and a reggae vocal cadence. In the beginning, the album followed an opening smash hit in the single "Here I Go Again" then descends into faceless slow jams after a while that resulted in one of the more engaging urban dance-pop albums of 2005.
The album debuted at #10 on the Billboard 100 and at #6 on Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums, selling 69,000 albums in its first week. To date the album has sold over 459,000 copies in the U.S. and 2 million worldwide.
