One of the popular band in the 80's like, Pearl Jam, Nirvana among others, Mudhoney was formed by Mark and Steve. One of their successful albums released was Piece of Cake.

Mudhoney was formed in 1988 by "Mark Arm" and "Steve Turner". Mark and Steve formed the band, Green River in 1984. They recruited "Alex Vincent" on drums, "Jeff Ament", and "Stone Gossard". After the released of their debut album, Steve left the band and was replaced by "Bruce Fairweather". In the later of 1987, the band was disbanded, Jeff, Stone and Steve join the band, Mother Love Bone. After that Stone an Jeff formed a new band named, Pearl Jam while Bruce joins Love Battery.
In 1988, Steve and Mark were reunited and decided to formed the band called, Mudhoney. "Matt Lukin" who left the group, The Melvins was recruited by Steve and Mark. That year, they released their first EP, Superfuzz Bigmuff. In 1989, their self-titled debut studio album was issued under Subpop Records. Their next album, very Good Boy Deserves Fudge was releaesd in 1991.
They signed a recording contract under Reprise Records in 1992. In that same year, they released their album, Piece of Cake which chartered at #9 on US Billboard 200 Albums Chart and #39 on UK Charts. Their next album, My Brother the Cow was releaed in 1995. After they took a break for almost four years, the group released their next album, Since We've Become Translucent in 2002 under Subpop Records. In 2006, they issued their next album, Under A Billion Suns which received good critics. Their latest album, The Lucky Ones was released last May 2008.
