Ms. Jade is a notable black rapper from Philadelphia. She also did a collaboration with the rapper Missy Elliott in her So Addictive. Her debut album is Girl Interrupted.

[edit] Early Life

Rapper Ms. Jade or (Chevon Young) was born on august 3, 1979 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. At a young age, Jade loved listening to Pat Benatar and Janet Jackson. She performed their songs on stage during talent shows at her school. At her teen years, Ms. Jade turned to the works of MC Lyte and Queen Latifah. Just before graduating high school in 1997 she was highly influenced by the songs of Foxy Brown, Mase and Notorious B.I.G..

Her break came when she met Terrance Glasgow from 215 Entertainment. Glasgow introduced her to Missy Elliot. Missy believed in Ms. Jade and called Timbaland. She signed in with Timbaland’s Beat Club Records. In 2002, Jade released her debut album, Girl Interrupted. At this moment, the young rapper is recording at the studio for her up coming self-titled album due on 2008.
