Mother Love Bone was formed in 1987 at Seattle, California by "Andrew Wood", "Stone Gossard", "Jeff Ament" and "Regan Haggar". In the early part of 1988, Regan left the group and was replaced by "Bruce Fairweather". "Greg Gilmore" was added in the line-up in that same year. The band signed a recording contract under Polygram Records in 1989 and released their first EP, Shine. The album reached #77 at the Billboard 200 Albums Chart. Their first studio album, Apple was released in 1990 under Mercury Records. The album landed at #34 on the US Heatseekers Albums Chart. After the released of their album, Andrew died because of drug overdosed. After that the group decided to split up.
