Monie Love is an English rapper and former radio disc jock in the United States. She made a name for herself as the protégé of female American rapper Queen Latifah. Love was one of the first British Hip Hop artist who signed and distributed by a major record worldwide.

About
Early Life
Simone Wilson professionally known as Monie Love was born on July 2, 1970 in Battersea district in London. At 18, he became a member of the British rap group Jus Bad crew and released their first single "Fre Style/Proud" in 1988. When she went out to explore other music possibilities, she gained critical success after in the Unites States in 1989 for her role in Queen Latifah's single "Ladies First" as well as Jungle Brothers' single "Doin' Our own Dang". Her appearances with these led her to a recording deal with Warner Bros. She became one of the few British raps to release records by a major record label.
Albums Released
Love's debut album Down To Earth was released on 1990. The album spawned two hit singles that garnered two Grammy nominations - "Monie In The Middle" and "It's a Shame (My Sister)". The album charted at #26 in the Top R&B albums chart.
On 1993, Love collaborated with Prince and Marley Marl for the released of her second album In A Word Or 2. The hit single was the Prince-produced "Born To B.R.E.E.D." which reached #1 on the Hot Dance Music chart and #7 on the Hot Rap Singles chart.
Her lates release was an EP "Slice of Da Pie" in 2000.
